Welcome! I’m Monica, a wife and stay-at-home mom to two young boys.
This blog is for anyone who’s tired, overwhelmed and wishing for change. Who wants to learn how to slow down, pare down and simplify, but maybe needs some motivation. Who wants to make space for the important things and the people they love.
A few years ago, I realized something drastic needed to change. I was suffering from burnout and it was affecting everyone around me including my coworkers, husband and young son.
I left my demanding job in the world of government communications to take on the demanding job of caring for my child and home full-time. I know not everyone can (or wants to) make that choice, but it really was the best for me and my family.
And now, a few years later, I finally feel like myself again.
I’m still a work in progress, and I invite you to follow along on my journey as I look for new and BETTER ways to make life easier, less stressful and more fun. But in a way that’s sustainable.
I live in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, but I’m originally from southern Ontario. I write about my passions for simple, low-waste living, minimalism, holistic health and the environment.
I also write about my growing family as a way to update my family and friends across Canada the world.
Writing also, incidentally, is a wonderful way to slow down and practice mindfulness and gratitude. So you’ll see a bit of that too.
If you want to get in touch with me, send me an email at hello@monicabooth.ca or use my contact form.
Let’s make life simple again. Together.
